Every day, RBTs at AAI make a meaningful and positive impact in their communities by supporting individuals with autism. You’ll work one-on-one with your assigned client, either in their home, at one of our specialized clinics, or in a school environment, offering dedicated, personalized care. Your journey as an RBT in Training at AAI begins with a comprehensive onboarding program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. The onboarding consists of:

Online Training Modules: This foundational training will guide you through key concepts and best practices, helping you build a solid understanding of ABA principles and techniques.
Required Coursework for the RBT Exam: AAI will cover the cost of the 40-hour coursework required to prepare for the RBT certification exam.
You’ll be expected to complete your RBT certification exam within three months of beginning your onboarding. Once you pass, your hourly rate will increase, recognizing your growth and commitment.
Guidance and Mentorship
Throughout your onboarding, you’ll receive dense mentorship from experienced team members dedicated to helping you thrive. Our mentorship program provides consistent, hands-on guidance, ensuring you feel confident and supported at each step. With regular check-ins and the support of skilled supervisors and BCBAs, you’ll have everything you need to succeed.

Your willingness to engage, be creative, and adapt to each client’s needs is essential in building a trusting relationship and fostering progress.
Your role will focus on developing foundational skills, including:
Communication: Teaching effective ways for children to express themselves.
Learning and Play: Engaging in activities that encourage curiosity and joy, helping clients achieve developmental milestones.
Listening and Social Skills: Supporting clients in understanding instructions, following routines, and engaging with others.
Behavioral Support: Working with children to develop replacement behaviors that meet the purpose (or function) of challenging behaviors, like self-injury, aggression, or tantrums, in a constructive way.
