Recognizing that Telehealth may not suit every child initially, we begin with a formal assessment to evaluate each child’s readiness for this platform. Since we started exploring telehealth in 2015, AAI has emerged as a leader in the field. Families are often pleasantly surprised by how engaging and effective telehealth sessions can be—our therapists bring creativity and energy to each session, ensuring it is both fun and productive for children.
Beyond direct support for children, telehealth has become a preferred tool for many parents. One of its greatest advantages is the ability to access support when it’s needed most. Our BCBAs can jump into secure video sessions to offer guidance without waiting for the next scheduled appointment, providing immediate assistance for families facing real-time challenges. Telehealth is also an excellent platform for parent training, allowing us to coach and empower parents from the comfort of their homes. Some parents use this service exclusively, while others add it to their child’s direct support plan for a more comprehensive approach.
Additionally, telehealth enables our BCBAs to provide ongoing supervision and support to the staff members who work directly in your home. This model ensures that our therapists receive consistent guidance and oversight, maintaining the high quality of care that AAI is known for. Understanding that some families may prefer not to have outside professionals in their homes, AAI offers flexible options for parent training. Many parents opt for telehealth-based training sessions, allowing them to connect with a skilled BCBA or Assistant Supervisor from the comfort of their own home. This mode of training ensures that families can engage in meaningful learning experiences while maintaining their preferred home environment.
Our parent training sessions are designed to cover essential topics, including the foundational principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), effective intervention strategies tailored for their child, and techniques to support developmental growth. For school districts that do not have a BCBA on-site, AAI offers telehealth supervision, ensuring that schools receive expert guidance while placing Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Lead RBTs in-person to provide direct support. This model allows us to maintain high standards of care while being responsive to the specific needs of each school.
AAI has been utilizing Telehealth technology to support schools for over 10 years. While this method may be new to some, we can confidently attest to its effectiveness.
